Mr. Bethea

Dear Parents and Student,

I am looking forward to teaching your child this year.  My goal is to help make your child’s 7th grade year a great success.  If you have any questions or concerns about my class, feel free to contact the school’s counselor at 334-347-2215.  We ask that you make an appointment so that schedules will not conflict and everyone is able to attend.  I can’t wait to be apart of your child’s educational success.

Final Grades are averaged by combining homework, test, and quiz grades.

40% Homework    40% Test     20% Quiz

Homework

Homework is to be turned in on time.  Late work will not be accepted unless it has been approved by the teacher or administration. EXTRA CREDIT ASSIGNMENTS WILL NOT BE GIVEN.  Students will have an opportunity to receive extra credit several times during each nine (9) weeks. Students who do not do their homework will receive a zero (0) on that particular assignment. No make-up work will be given or accepted if the student has received a zero for that homework assignment. If homework is missed, students will be required to follow the school’s policy in making up the missed assignment(s). The homework hotline is available for parents to keep up with their child’s homework on a daily basis.  The homework hotline number is (334) 347-0235.  Mr. Bethea’s ext. 1530.

Tests

Students are encouraged not to miss scheduled test dates.  If a test is missed, students will be required to follow the school’s policy in making up the missed test(s).  Extra credit earned during the nine weeks will be added to the student’s test. At the end of every nine weeks students will be required to take a nine (9) weeks test.  This test will cover everything taught during the nine (9) weeks.  Students will also be given news quizzes every Friday unless otherwise instructed.

Cheating will not be tolerated.  Any student caught cheating will receive a zero on that test or assignment, a disciplinary referral will be issued, and the student will be sent to the office.

Thank you for your time and I look forward to a great year at Coppinville Junior High School.
