Sra corrective reading is a small group, direct instruction reading program by McGraw-Hill.  The program has reading programs that start at the lowest level which is “A” level and end at the highest level which is “C” level. I am currently teaching “C” level.

Students are placed into the Sra program using their 6th grade dibel scores or Sat-10 stanines.  The program also has a test that can be administered to students and places them in the correct level.  After being placed in the correct level, the students receive a hardback storybook and a paperback workbook.  After reading each lesson the students work in their workbook completing comprehension story questions.  The Sra corrective program consists of decoding words, timed readings, comprehension and vocabulary components to each lesson.
